Walking in the dark

Last night at the Festival of Homiletics in Nashville Barb sara Brown Taylor spoke on Learning to Walk in the Dark. She was amazing as she had us all laughing while she explored the difficult idea of following God’s dark side. She used John 3 and the conversation Jesus had with Nicodemus at night.  It is a rather confusing dialogue and maybe that is the very point of Jesus: to show Nicodemus and us what we don’t know first.  To admit that we are walking in the dark and that is okay.
My 1.5 mile walk back to my dorm room in the dark had plenty of thoughts to chew on.  God is in the struggle and God is good.  Without the darkness you cannot have the dawn.
Lord Jesus, I walk with you in the darkest valley or on the brightest hilltop.
